Gurit to continue to supply components for Airbus

Wattwil SG/Zurich – High-performance materials manufacturer Gurit is extending its partnership with Elbe Flugzeugwerke. The two partners develop and produce components for the cabin interiors of Airbus aircraft.

Gurit and Elbe Flugzeugwerke have been collaborating for the past ten years, and the two partners have now signed a new framework contract for the coming three years.

According to a statement, the new contract comprises the production and supply of existing qualified aerospace materials, as well as the joint development and qualification of new material technologies for the production of cabin interiors for Airbus passenger airplanes. The extended framework contract has a total value of around 25 million Swiss francs.

“We are very pleased and honoured to intensify and reinforce our long-standing partnership with Elbe Flugzeugwerke,” said Stefan Gautschi, General Manager Composite Materials at Gurit. “This new contract provides both parties and our partners with continuity and reliability for the future.”

A joint venture of ST Aerospace and Airbus, Elbe Flugzeugwerke develops and manufactures flat fibre-reinforced composite components for the structures and interiors of the entire Airbus family of aircraft.
