Bernina celebrates anniversary
Steckborn TG – Sewing machine manufacturer Bernina is turning 125 this year. It is launching special models to celebrate and will also publish tutorials for sewing projects on its social networks.
Bernina was founded 125 years ago by Karl Friedrich Gegauf. Today, the company from the St.GallenBodenseeArea is active in more than 60 countries. The sewing and embroidery machines from the “Swiss family-owned company stand for innovation and precision”, writes Bernina in a statement.
The anniversary is being celebrated this year under the motto “Celebrating your Creativity”. To this end, three special models will be released in an anniversary edition featuring a panel with golden ornaments, a golden emblem, a gold-plated foot and a carrying case and/or embroidery machine bag with golden embroidery. Videos with instructions on golden sewing projects will be published, and several tutorials will deal with a golden quilt.
In celebrating its anniversary Bernina does not want to focus on its own history but rather on the creativity of its customers.
“The focus for us is on the creative ideas of our customers,” said Hanspeter Ueltschi, company owner and great-grandson of Gegauf. “Our goal is to expand the creative scope for textile design with user-friendly products and new functions.”
