Quality label renewed for University of St.Gallen
St.Gallen – In recognition of its efforts to continuously improve its quality, the University of St.Gallen has had its EQUIS label renewed for a further five years. This seal of approval has been awarded to 176 universities worldwide.
EQUIS, which stands for the European Quality Improvement System, is handed out by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). According to a statement from the University of St.Gallen (HSG), is has been EQUIS-accredited since 2001. The university has now been awarded this seal of approval for the maximum period of five years, which means it will not have to face another EFMD evaluation until 2023.
The primary focus of the latest re-accreditation process was on self-reflection and looking ahead. To this end, the university reported on its curricula, research, range of executive education programmes and internationalization strategy. The EFMD also reviewed the university in areas of ethics, responsibility and sustainability, and the self-assessment was supplemented with facts and figures from the last five years, as well as evaluations from a student perspective.
The HSG regularly allows itself to be assessed by international experts to ensure it complies with quality standards. Alongside the EQUIS seal of approval, the university has been accredited by the U.S.-based Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) since 2004.
The success of the university’s efforts can also be seen in the latest Masters in Finance ranking produced by the Financial Times. It came in sixth place, making it the highest ranked university in the German-speaking world.
