OnlineDoctor raises new capital

St.Gallen – OnlineDoctor AG from St.Gallen has closed a pre-series A financing round and now intends to accelerate its growth. The startup offers advice from expert dermatologists to patients online.

OnlineDoctor has so far raised venture capital of 2.5 million Swiss francs, it was reported in a media release on the pre-series A financing round recently closed by the startup from the St.GallenBodenseeArea. All existing investors participated in this round, including the Startfeld Foundation and Forty:one. A new investor was also gained, namely the venture capital firm EquityPitcher.

The startup was founded just two years ago. Via its platform, patients can submit photos of any skin abnormalities that concern them to the OnlineDoctor in encrypted format. Its network currently includes around 100 dermatologists from Switzerland, who examine the photo and share their assessment. Patients will generally receive a response quickly. This means they no longer need to endure the long wait to see a dermatologist in person. In addition, this service can be used anywhere worldwide, even on holiday.

With this new capital, OnlineDoctor now intends to boost growth and develop its platform. The teams in St.Gallen, Zurich and Hamburg are to be expanded and internationalization taken forward. “Through technology and innovation, OnlineDoctor connects the digital and physical worlds,” said Olé Wiesinger in the press release, as a representative of EquityPitcher. “The startup offers an intelligent, high-quality solution that benefits both doctors and patients,” said the former CEO of the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group.
