Dagsmejan successfully closes funding round

St.Gallen – The start-up Dagsmejan has raised more than one million Swiss francs in a funding round. The manufacturers of functional sleepwear will now look to fund an expansion to the USA in addition to new product lines. A new range will soon be released.

In total, Dagsmejan, a start-up based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea, has raised 1.2 million francs as part of a financing round, as outlined in an article on startupticker.ch. A handful of “experienced business angels” participated in the financing round, including the Swiss entrepreneur Beat Curti.

The proceeds are to be used to finance the production of new product lines. Moreover, Dagsmejan intends to put the funds towards a US expansion. To this end, Dagsmejan would certainly make use of a digital-led strategy in the first instance, although the start-up is also on the hunt for “innovative sales partners”, as explained by co-founder Andreas Lenzhofer in the article. Up until now, Dagsmejan has conducted sales via direct customer contact, although cooperations with wellness and health resorts have also been agreed, for example with the Grand Hotel Kulm in St.Moritz.

Dagsmejan was founded in 2016. The company founded by Catarina Dahlin and Andreas Lenzhofer has developed a natural fiber, which it uses in its products. The patented technology allows the trousers and tops manufactured by Dagsmejan to absorb four times as much sweat as cotton. This better regulates the body temperature of the wearer, while the products are also twice as soft as cotton textiles. Following its first collection of heat-regulating sleepwear, the company launched its Stay Warm product range in the fall of 2018. In August, the third product family – Stay Cool – is set to be launched.
