Bühler certified for digital security

Uzwil SG – Bühler has been certified for digital security. The certification asserts the process technologies company’s high security standards, while a good performance in 2019 and a new innovation center round off its latest successes.

Bühler has been certified "with the most respected cyber security standard: ISO 27001:2013", writes the company from the St.GallenBodenseeArea in a statement. "We want to show our customers that their data is as secure with us as it is currently possible. Digital services from Bühler conform to the highest possible security standards,” said Stuart Bashford, Digital Officer at Bühler Group.

These digital services include the Bühler Insights platform, where Bühler and its clients share increasingly large amounts of data to support the digitalization of processes. "Bühler started its journey to certify its information security in 2018 in order to make Bühler Insights and its connected digital solutions as secure as possible for its customers,” continues the statement. The software development process of the Mercury MES automation platform and the myBühler client portal also correspond to the highest security standards, as the certification shows.

In a further success, Bühler reported a good performance in 2019. Turnover was stable at 3.3 billion Swiss francs while net profit grew by 7.2  per cent to 202 million Swiss francs. The EBIT margin grew from 7.1 per cent in the previous year to 7.6 per cent but order intake decreased by 4.6 per cent to 3.1 billion Swiss francs.

Bühler’s latest successes did not stop there. In another statement, the company announced a new Innovation Center to open this year in Singapore. A joint project with Givaudan, it will focus on plant-based nutrition.
