Baumer presents new miniature sensors

Frauenfeld TG – Sensor and precision technology manufacturer Baumer has launched new ultrasonic miniature sensors. A patented coating protects them against aggressive media.

Vapours or cleaning agents can damage the sensor face of ultrasonic sensors, which is why Baumer has launched its new UNAR/URAR 12 ultrasonic miniature sensors. These feature an ultra-thin patented parylene coating on the sensor face and a stainless steel all-metal housing, protecting the sensors from aggressive media and making them suitable for use in demanding environments.

The new sensors complement the St.GallenBodenseeArea company’s portfolio of chemically robust sensors and are available as proximity, retro-reflective and distance sensors. Application uses include level measurement of paints and varnishes in the printing industry, in pressure tanks or in compact laboratory containers in the pharmaceutical industry.

With very short response times of less than 6 milliseconds, the UNAR/URAR12 miniature sensors are also suitable for applications where data must be quickly obtained, such as presence detection of bottles in fillers in the food and beverage industry.
