Specialist food retailer from Eastern Switzerland undergoes restructuring

Rorschach SG - Kündig Chäslaube AG has been transformed into Kündig Feinkost AG. Managing Director Matthias Kündig is restructuring the company to future-proof the business, with locations in Rorschach and St.Gallen set to be bolstered as well.

According to a press release issued by Kündig Feinkost AG, Matthias Kündig has put plans for the future in place at an early stage “in the spirit of a clearly defined succession plan” for the company. Previously known as Kündig Chäslaube and recognized as cheese specialists, the company has now set about getting to grips with the change in customer requirements to ensure that the business is fit for the future. In this context, both the locations in Rorschach and St.Gallen – and therefore all jobs as well – will be maintained. In this way, the company is aiming to secure the expertise of its employees.

Preservation of value is a key aspect of the restructuring, while establishing a healthy basis for future growth represents another. “The current trend towards the demise of stores means that companies are increasingly forced to face up to the challenges of the market”, the Management Team were quoted in the press release. “Digitalization, marketing and administration are becoming ever more complex and must be tackled in a professional manner, without losing sight of aspects such as tradition and quality”.

In addition to Matthias Kündig, the new Management Team also comprises David Vincze, former CEO of Appenzeller Käse; Thomas Stiegler, a consultant for family-owned businesses; and Roger Muamba, Founding Member of Emma & Söhne.
