Hälg enables production of precision parts

St.Gallen – Building services company Hälg installed a ventilation and cooling system in a customer’s production facility that, thanks to the improved climate, now makes it possible to produce precision components.

Hälg & Co AG’s customer, L. Kellenberger, is a manufacturer of high-precision grinding machines. Like Hälg, it is based in the St.Gallen-BodenseeArea, but it also has a production facility in Biel in the canton of Bern. After a successful joint project in Wittenbach in the canton of St.Gallen, L. Kellenberger decided to award the contract for a ventilation and cooling system in Biel to Hälg.

Hälg planned and implemented the system, including the measurement and control technology. Its focus was on preventing excessive fluctuations in room temperature, as L. Kellenberg uses raw materials that are sensitive to such fluctuations. If the deviations are too large, then the accuracy of the production process can no longer be guaranteed.

Numerous factors had to be considered to achieve this because the production facility’s floor plan, location of machines, workplaces and windows, as well as the number of employees in the facility can all influence the indoor climate. After taking these aspects into account, Hälg succeeded in installing a ventilation and cooling system that enables not only precise production, but also creates an ideal climate for employees without drafts.
