Startup smino acquires Austrian Bimspot

Rapperswil-Jona SG/Vienna - The software provider smino is taking over Bimspot, also a software company and based in Vienna. The provider of a digital tool for the management of construction projects aims to become the market leader in construction in Austria, Germany and Switzerland through this acquisition.

The startup smino with headquarters in Jona is taking over the software manufacturer Bimspot based in Vienna. As a result, smino is hoping to become the standard solution for project management and collaboration in the construction industry in the DACH region, as was reported in a press release.

The startup from the St.GallenBodenseeArea offers a digital platform for planning and construction projects in Switzerland. Currently, 8,000 companies are using smino’s platform, which functions as a data hub for construction projects.

The plan is for bimspot’s technology, which brings together and structures building information through building information modeling (BIM), automatically checking for any errors and omissions, to be integrated into the smino platform after the acquisition.

This will expand the scope of functions for users in the field of BIM processing. All employees at Bimspot will be working with the smino team. BIM experts and software developers will continue to develop the technology and advance sales from a new site in Vienna.

“With this acquisition, we will become the market leader in the area of BIM. I am confident that our two offerings perfectly complement each other and will enable us to give customers real added value,” explained Silvio Bee, co-founder and Managing Partner of smino AG.
