Model calls for participation in Snackathon

Weinfelden TG - The packaging manufacturer Model is taking part in “Snackathon” this March. To this end, Valora and Emmi are calling on interested parties to develop a new, sustainable cheese-based snack.

As detailed in a press release issued by Model, “Snackathon” will take place between March 13 and 15. In addition to Valora, a retail company from Muttenz BL, and Emmi, a milk processing firm from Lucerne, the packaging manufacturer Model, a company based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea, are inviting interested parties to develop a new cheese-based snack including packaging.

The participants will be divided into teams at the Westhive coworking space in Zurich, where they will aim to develop concepts for a sustainable, well-balanced, cheese-based snack. “With Snackathon, our aim is to develop a healthy, fresh and light cheese-based snack that comes in sustainable packaging”, explains Roger Vogt, CEO of Valora Retail, in the press release. Model comes into play for the packaging element. The Model AG Innovation and Competence Center will be supporting the participants in the development of sustainable packaging.

Interested parties can apply online to take part. Around 50 people will be selected from the applicants to take part in Snackathon. Andreas Kaiser, Head of Innovation and Product Development at Model, will be on the jury tasked with selecting the winning project. The winning team will take home a first prize of 5,000 Swiss francs. Moreover, sustainability and innovation prizes will also be awarded, for which the winners will each be presented with 1,500 Swiss francs.
