Zur Rose records further growth

Frauenfeld – The online drug store Zur Rose is growing in the area of telemedicine. The German company TeleClinic has been acquired for precisely this purpose. Moreover, Zur Rose has implemented a capital increase.

Zur Rose has taken over the Munich-based TeleClinic GmbH for a purchase price in the mid-double-digit million euro range, as detailed in a press release issued by the company based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea. TeleClinic, which was only founded in 2015, has “rapidly achieved the status of the leading telemedicine provider in Germany”, according to Zur Rose.

The services offered by TeleClinic also include the creation of digital prescriptions. “Electronic prescriptions (eRx) are expected to be issued for up to 50 per cent of consultations performed on the platform, underlining the highly complementary nature of the acquisition to the eRx strategy of the Zur Rose Group”, the press release states. In addition, Zur Rose is expanding its portfolio to include the telemedicine services offered by TeleClinic.

“With TeleClinic as an integrated part of the Zur Rose Healthcare Ecosystem, we will start offering digital solutions in addition to the medications and pharmacy product portfolio, enabling patients to have better lives”, comments Walter Oberhänsli, CEO of the Zur Rose Group, in the press release.

Furthermore, Zur Rose has also issued a total of 740,823 new shares to institutional investors, the details of which can be found in another press release. The share capital of Zur Rose has been increased by more than 20 million Swiss francs as a result of this measure.
