SFS awarded major contract for high-precision components

Heerbrugg SG - SFS has landed a contract from an automotive industry client. The manufacturer of high-precision components and fasteners will deliver parts for a braking system worth more than 100 million Swiss francs.

Between 2024 and 2033, SFS will produce high-precision components for a braking system manufacturer at its headquarters in Heerbrugg in the canton of St.Gallen. The company has accordingly landed a contract worth more than 100 million Swiss francs, further details of which can be found in a press release, in which the manufacturing firm based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea also describes the contract as “another milestone” in the company history.

The precision components are to be manufactured for a “new generation” of braking systems. The electrification of vehicles and components such as braking systems represents a highly promising growth area from which SFS is keen to benefit. The company has therefore successfully sought to position itself as a development partner and supplier for the automotive industry. With the contract now having been awarded, SFS is marking this down as a real “achievement” for the company.

SFS’s client will receive precision components that are characterized by a “reduction in complexity and greater cost-effectiveness”. These parts will be manufactured at the new Hall 6 in Heerbrugg, which is set go into operation by the summer of 2022.
