Rigotex completes factory expansion project

Bütschwil - Two modern Jacquard machines have been installed as part of an expansion project at the rigotex ag weaving mill. With this, the Toggenburg-based firm is seeking to respond to rising demand for home textiles both in Switzerland and abroad. The modern looms also help to reduce energy consumption in production processes.

At the end of 2022, rigotex ag - swiss house of textiles put two new Jacquard machines into operation, according to a press release issued by the weaving mill based in Bütschwil in the canton of St.Gallen. With this expansion project, rigotex is once again using ten looms for the production of high-quality home textiles from the Toggenburg region. The aim here is to meet increasing demand for the tea towels offered under the Meyer-Mayor and Kultschoff brands both in Switzerland and abroad.

“We now have at our disposal the most modern facility in Europe for the production of kitchen textiles”, comments Managing Director and co-owner Hans Hauser in the press release, before adding: “With this investment, we are proud to consolidate our claim as a premium producer and further strengthen the location of Bütschwil”.

The two new, state-of-the-art weaving machines also help to reduce energy consumption in production processes, rigotex explains. The company has also switched the lighting in the production hall to intelligently controlled LEDs. The electricity required for the production of home textiles is now additionally sourced from domestic hydropower in its entirety. hs
