Nüssli gives wooden pavilion a second life

Hüttwilen/Diessenhofen TG – Nüssli, a provider of temporary event structures, constructed a wooden pavilion for Swiss Re. After two years of use, the building will now be reassembled in Diessenhofen and turned into a permanent workshop with office space.

The wooden pavilion created by Nüssli was used by Swiss Re as a temporary solution for its staff restaurant, as a press release from the specialist event and exhibition construction company from the St.GallenBodenseeArea reveals. The team’s plans utilized sustainable construction methods from the very beginning to ensure a high degree of reusability for the building components. After two years of use by Swiss Re, the pavilion is being reassembled in Diessenhofen and turned into a permanent workshop with office space.

The building constructed in Zurich features a modular design and can be dismantled quickly and easily, with two-thirds of the elements destined for use in Diessenhofen. Nüssli only needed to adapt “a few roof windows, special windows and doors” at its production facilities. Once the assembly is complete, Nüssli will install the façade substructure so that the new façade design developed by the client can easily be attached. The wood comes from the Bürgerwald forest in Diessenhofen.

From October, the building will be ready for use. Schreinerei Roesch joinery will be based in the spraying hall on the ground floor, while Spitex Diessenhofen and kpm3 will occupy the office spaces on the upper floor. jh
