Buchs - A total of 200 employees are currently employed in the new Brusa headquarters in Buchs in the canton of St.Gallen, while growth plans lay out expansion of up to 400 jobs. Brusa Electronic and the spin-off Brusa HyPower are moving to benefit from the switch to electromobility.

At the start of this year, the Brusa spin-off company Brusa HyPower and Brusa Electronicmoved from the former Brusa headquarters in Sennwald in the canton of St.Gallen to the new site in Buchs. There are currently 200 employees from 22 countries working in the headquarters, announced Brusa in a statement. The globally active company for e-mobility says that up to 400 jobs will soon be filled.

"The spin-off of Brusa HyPower to create an independent company in 2021 was a logical step in line with our strategy," comments Brusa CEO Holger Fink in the statement. The press release adds that the management team of the spin-off, which specializes in highly efficient power converters, is forecasting growth and high market shares.

On its website, Brusa states that since it was founded in 1984, it has "played a key role in the global breakthrough in electromobility". Alongside Sennwald and Buchs, the company has offices in Munich, Stuttgart and Shenzhen. It plans to establish and further develop future production lines at the Chinese location. This is the result of "many years of engineering, testing and production know-how from the Swiss locations", according to Josef Brusa in the statement.

For the company founder and Brusa board member, "the expansion of our company headquarters in Switzerland" was a a "conscious decision to remain in the region". At the new headquarters in Buchs, Brusa relies on “cooperating with research institutes and companies that actively offer vocational training, and have established an extensive network of partners”. The company is currently recruiting more than 70 new employees, most of them for the Swiss locations.
