Baumer camera receives award

Frauenfeld TG – Sensor technology manufacturer Baumer has received the inspect award 2019 for its CX.I camera. This is recognition of the camera as a special innovation in the area of industrial image processing.

Each year, German scientific publishing house Wiley-VCH presents the inspect award in the categories of Vision, Automation and Control. Baumer has been honored with the award in the Vision category, as was reported in a press release from the sensor technology manufacturer in the St.GallenBodenseeArea. An expert panel selected the ten best products in each of the categories and from these, 45,000 readers of the magazines and other online portals were asked to select their favorite. Baumer was crowned the winner.

The overall concept of the CX.I camera impressed both the jury and readers. The camera developed for industrial applications can be used in an operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, which means no additional cooling or heating devices are necessary. With exposure times from 1 microsecond and frame rates of up to 1000 images per second, the cameras can be deployed flexibly in demanding applications. The lenses of different lengths can be protected against dust and dirt using a variable number of extension rings. With specially developed housing accessories, the camera is also suitable for hygienic zones in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
