Eastern Switzerland to honour the best digital projects

St.Gallen – The LEADER Digital Award will be handed out for the first time in spring to honour the most outstanding digital projects in Eastern Switzerland. Applications can now be submitted.

The LEADER Digital Award was launched by the business magazine LEADER, and applications can be submitted until 6 January 2019. A jury will then select the winning project, which will be awarded the LEADER Digital Award at a gala event on 28 March in the Einstein Congress Hall in St.Gallen.

The award ceremony intends to highlight outstanding digital projects from Eastern Switzerland that have an impact far being the region. It will do so by providing an appropriate stage for these projects, while also drawing broad attention to the fact that the area between Lake Constance and the Alpstein is fertile ground for information and communication technologies.

A wide range of organisations are allowed to apply for the award, from startups to established companies and public administrations. To this end, the award will be handed out in three different categories: “Startup” for business models with a digital character that are less than three years old; “Business” for business models that allow existing companies to strengthen their digital maturity; and “Organisation” for non-profit organisations and public administrations. Projects can apply in more than one award category. In addition, the audience will select the winner of the Audience Award on 28 March.

The top-class jury will include representatives of IT companies, business development agencies, universities and associations, as well as some of the award’s partners. These are IT St.Gallen rockt, the Thurgau economic development office, Startfeld, Startnetzwerk Thurgau, the trade associations in St.Gallen and Thurgau and Einstein Hotel Congress Spa. Carsten Koerl, founder of the St.Gallen-based Sportradar, a global provider of sports data, will give the keynote speech at the gala event.
