Newcomer from the SGBA: Advertima among the Winners at Swiss ICT Awards

"Today we are celebrating and honoring the most original, sophisticated and surprising ICT projects of the year", the MC Reto Brennwald declared at the ceremony of the Swiss ICT Awards last November.

Only a little later nobody among the 800 invited guests and ICT industry representatives at the 37th Swiss ICT Symposium at the KKL venue in Lucerne was more surprised than Iman Nahvi, CEO and co-founder of Advertima. His start-up from the St.GallenBodenseeArea (SGBA) had just won the Swiss ICT Newcomer Award 2017.

Following the launch of Advertima about two years ago, Nahvi has helped develop an artificial intelligence based experience management system whose algorithm provides individual users information (ads, for instance) that spontaneously matches their actual experience. Nahvi hadn’t even prepared an acceptance speech. But he felt very honored and motivated for the future, he said visibly thankful and delighted.

At the Swiss ICT Awards, the start-up from the SGBA enjoyed good company: Nomos System, a Swiss specialist in automation protocols, was awarded the main prize, Swisscognitive, a start-up from central Switzerland garnered the audience award, and Swiss legend and longest serving Google developer Urs Hölzle was honored with a Special Award for his lifetime achievements and merits in advancing Switzerland as a software developers’ location and destination.

Advertima’s win is a clear sign that young ICT companies from the SGBA are more than ready to compete in the highest league of the industry.
