On a Personal Note: A very warm Welcome to our own Daniel Müller!

The St.GallenBodenseeArea (SGBA) officially welcomes their new man at the helm: Effective February 1st, Mr. Daniel Müller has been named new Head of Location Marketing of the canton St.Gallen. In his new function, Mr. Müller will also be in charge of managing the regional agency for economic development and investment promotion SGBA, in close collaboration with his peers and officers at the SGBA’s partnering cantons Thurgau, Appenzell Outer Rhodes and Appenzell Inner Rhodes. Mr. Müller was passed the baton from his predecessor Beat Ulrich, who had accepted a new challenge at the St.Gallen Symposium late last year.

Daniel Müller joins the SGBA team hailing from the University of St.Gallen, where he had been responsible for Corporate Fundraising und Strategic Partnerships at the university’s development and advancement department. Prior he had served as General Manager at the Institute of Political Science. With the University of St.Gallen being part of his curriculum since 2008, Mr. Müller is highly knowledgeable and familiar with one of the most important and reputable academic drivers of innovation in the SGBA.

In addition to this valuable contribution to the SGBA organization, a second pillar of Müller’s professional life is a pronounced flair for Intelligent Management which he was able to hone in several managerial positions at world-renowned technology company IBM. With advanced degrees in information technology and business administration, and an Executive MBA in International Management, Müller has keen insights and profound knowledge about the challenges and priorities of international companies in today’s global economy. He truly represents an ideal combination of skills and experiences required for the successful international promotion and economic development of the business region SGBA.

His extensive background in international management is the source for Müller’s core vision of his leadership: „We will continue to further refine our already excellent service culture and client offers,“ he says. „To do so, we as service providers will have to assume our customers’ point of view even more emphatically, and to proactively develop increasingly attractive solutions for our international corporate customers considering expansions to Europe and Switzerland.“ The 41-years-old married father of two has identified the strategic potential for this objective not only „in the beneficial business framework of the SGBA, its attractive quality of living and working, but also in early area development and low-threshold access to local government authorities and partner networks.“

Speaking on behalf of the SGBA, delegates Marcel Räpple, Markus Walt and Karin Jung commented on the news of Müller’s appointment: „We are very much looking forward to working with Daniel, and we would like to extend our warmest welcome on behalf of the entire team!“
