Jansen receives innovation award

Oberriet SG – Pipe manufacturer Jansen has been honored with the Architektur + Technik innovation award at the ISH, the world’s leading trade fair for water, heating and air-conditioning. This award recognizes the innovative pipe surface Jansen shark.

Jansen developed Jansen shark together with the Institute for Energy Technology (IET) at the University of Applied Sciences Rapperswil. The inside surface of the plastic pipe is inspired by shark’s skin. It imitates the resistance-reducing effect. The Jansen shark technology is optimally adapted to flow behavior and, in this way, significantly reduces hydraulic resistance. This technology from the company in the St.GallenBodenseeArea has now been honored with the Architektur + Technik innovation award, it was reported in a press release.

For the 20th time, architecture magazines AIT and xia Intelligente Architektur bestowed the award in partnership with AIT Dialog and Messe Frankfurt during the ISH trade fair, which finishes on Friday. Four companies were presented with awards, including Jansen. This recognizes the efforts of the company to create a product that “effectively addresses the concerns of interior designers and architects”.

Pipes featuring Jansen shark technology are intended for application in ground source heat loops, the connection lines of ground source heat loops to the heat pumps and round source heat exchangers.
