Record Attendance for Startup Forum 2017 at the OLMA Fair

Held for the 6th time already, this year’s Startup Forum turned exhibition hall 9.2 of the OLMA in St.Gallen into a full house. 540 registered participants constituted a new attendance record for the St.GallenBodenseeArea’s startup event co-organized by the Location Promotion Agency of the Office for Economy and Labor of the canton St.Gallen, PostFinance and the startup organization Institut für Jungunternehmen IFJ on October 16th.

In addition to a completely booked out business speed dating session, instructive keynotes and field reports by startups in the SGBA (e.g. medtech company Vigilitech or lifestyle technology startup Faitron), this year’s edition of the Forum was dedicated to the topic of corporate digitalization. Startups and budding entrepreneurs eagerly jumped at the opportunity to have their websites and online presence fully checked for free by proven digital experts. And at the final reception, the traditional 3 B’s (brats, buns and beer) made sure that all participants took full advantage of the Forum’s networking and relationship development potential.

Serge Baumgartner from of the Office for Economy and Labor of the canton St.Gallen gladly noted what a great success Startup Forum 2017 turned out to be: „A thriving startup scene is the best ambassador and indicator for the potential of our business region. The continuing growth in attendance underlines how an increasing number of startup entrepreneurs begins to capitalize on this potential in the St.GallenBodenseeArea.“

And the next edition of Startup Forum has already been announced: The 7th installment will take place on May 4th 2018 at the RHEMA venue in Altstätten, St.Gallen. As usual, the St.GallenBodenseeArea will be the event partner of the Forum.

Given this year’s run on the event, early registration might be a good idea: https://www.ifj.ch/forumsg
