Bag sealer keeps food fresh
Widnau SG – Swiss startup Böörds has developed a product that can keep opened foods fresh. The bag sealing system is produced 100 per cent in Switzerland.
Sandra Gschwend and Christian Diethelm created Böörds AG to develop and market their bag sealing system. It is based on an existing system, but Gschwend and Diethelm have optimized it and have been selling the bag sealer – called Tütenhüter or ‘bag keeper’ – since the beginning of December.
The Tütenhüter allows consumers to seal a folded food bag in no time at all – watertight and airtight. The product is manufactured entirely in Switzerland, namely the St.GallenBodenseeArea.
“We are proud and grateful to have found a manufacturer in Berneck in the St.Gallen Rhine Valley who is able to perfectly fulfil our wishes and requirements,” said Gschwend.
“The packaging film is also printed in Switzerland, and, of course, the Tütenhüter has been packaged in Switzerland. We are very pleased to be able to contribute our part to Swiss added value and be a part of the Swiss economy,” added Diethelm.
The Tütenhüter is currently being sold via the Böörds AG online shop, but it will also be available from specialist retailers in the future. As for the startup’s future plans: “We are already working on new developments and new products,” said Diethelm.
